What we found
Shell offers users a range of reporting formats – with a PDF report, a PDF review and an HTML report. While former options are straightforward PDFs (with no interactivity), Shell’s HTML reporting has several built in functions – including the option to email content, compare content from 2007 with that published in 2006 or create a custom PDF. The website also includes a print manager and a download manager, as well as a user-manipulated data tool (with the option to pull data as a Microsoft Excel or JPEG file).
Shell also encourages users to provide feedback on their reporting via a popup questionnaire – which asks users to rate design, navigation, functionality and overall impression of the overall report, plus asks which format users prefer to use (allowing them to choose from Print, HTML or PDF formats). Users are offered the opportunity to request a printed report – an option available from the same menu as the online (PDF or HTML) report options. Outside of their reporting, Shell offer RSS feeds on a range of specific sustainability issues.
